Extending a Collection of Freeform Australian Parti Sapphire Jewellery
We recently crafted a beautiful pair of bespoke Australian parti sapphire earrings for a client who wanted to add to her collection of Melanie Katsalidis jewellery.
2019 was the start of Lyn's journey, when we created a show-stopping geometric custom ring in gold with a one-of-a-kind freeform hexagonal Australian parti sapphire (see below). Lyn came to us again this year, keen to treat herself to a pair of earrings which would match her existing gold and sapphire jewels.
We had a custom consultation in our Melbourne gallery with Lyn to perfect the design details and ensure we created something that harmonised with her existing ring. Lyn was inspired by a pair of white gold sapphire slice earrings Melanie had handmade back in 2017 for her Neo Cuts exhibition (see below). However, she wanted them made with hooks instead of posts - for comfort and security - and made from yellow gold to match her gold ring.
We set about sourcing this vibrant pair of Australian parti sapphires, and added a sparkling accent with a princess cut champagne diamond. The result is a one-of-a-kind luxurious design, perfectly complementing the geometric aesthetic of Lyn's enviable jewellery collection.
