"Love at first sight"– custom Open Hex Ring
This custom white gold Open Hex Ring, polished to a high shine – just as our client liked it – has been a special process for us. Pauline was looking for something one-of-a-kind to fill a gap left behind by a lost collection of irreplaceable pieces. Here's her story.
“I feel my piece of jewellery found me. I was after a ring to replace a few lifetimes of jewellery (mine, my mother’s, grandmother’s and great aunts) all of which was stolen in a burglary. I wanted a ring that was a statement piece but something I could wear daily.
“Initially when I began my search for the perfect ring, I had in mind a large cocktail type ring, however as I have quite large fingers and wanted this for my index finger, I was going to need a huge stone. Fortunately quite early in my search I came across Melanie’s designs and was really drawn to her hexagon ring.
“It was love at first sight – its design and size was perfect for me, though I also fell deeply in love with her watermelon tourmaline rings.
“My ring is 18ct white gold, chosen particularly as it is a ring that I wear daily. I settled on a beautiful watermelon tourmaline and although it was different in shape to the stones in the other hexagon rings at the gallery, with guidance I received, I felt confident that it would be fabulous. I also chose a polished version of the ring to fit in with my other rings.
“I love everything about it – the design is unique and beautiful, it’s balanced, a perfect size and fit for my hand and finger, it's totally functional, and the stone is gorgeous. I really couldn’t ask for more – except maybe another one!”
