Today we're sharing the story of Madi & Tim's wedding, as we take a look at their striking engagement and wedding rings.

MK: Tell us about your engagement ring; the Freeform Australian parti sapphire Elevate ring - was it a surprise or did you help choose it? What do you love most about the ring?
MH: In March of 2021 we were in Melbourne for a wedding. The day after, Tim surprised me with an appointment at Pieces of Eight Gallery to pick out an engagement ring, knowing I was obsessed with Melanie's designs. I never wanted a diamond engagement ring and had always loved the idea of a parti sapphire. It was very surreal trying on all the rings I had always browsed online from Melanie's collection and the Freeform Elevate ring was a standout. The thing I love the most about this ring is how unique it is; the shape of the freeform sapphire is so quirky and nothing like what I had seen before. I love that it is a one-of-a-kind piece and this makes it so much more special to us.
MK: This is such a striking, bold engagement ring - what wedding band did you pair it with?
MH: We both picked our wedding bands from more of Melanie's designs. Tim selected the rose gold Knife Edge band and I paired my engagement ring with the XO Parti Sapphire ring. I was really careful in trying not to take away from the statement piece, but I think the beautiful stones in the XO ring compliment the freeform parti sapphire beautifully and one day I hope to add to the stack!
MK: We heard Tim surprised you with a special present on your wedding day - what did he gift you?
MH: Knowing just how obsessed I am with Melanie's designs, Tim had purchased the Juicy Infinite Rainbow ring as a gift for the birth of our beautiful daughter Hartly. This ring was conveniently ready for us just before our wedding and Tim surprised me with the ring on the morning of our wedding day. It was such a special and sentimental addition to our day and conveniently matched my outfit perfectly as I had a handmade veil covered in rainbow sequins!
MK: Your wedding looked like SUCH a fun event! What was your favourite part of the day? MH: We had the most amazing wedding day, we had always pictured a big party to celebrate, edging more on the non-traditional side and it was just that. Our favourite part of the day was definitely our pre-ceremony cocktails with our bridal party. We had decided to do a first look in the morning and take all our pictures before the ceremony so that once we said "I do" it was party time! So we booked out an awesome cocktail bar in the city and drank cocktails with our bridal party while our photographer and videographer captured candid moments with us, surrounded by our closest friends!
